I'm back!

hello everyone. I dont think I've posted in over a year. haha.... Well, I'm sad I wasn't able to make it to the Beach for all the festivities! I think Cris and I missed a lot. Boo. We missed seeing everyone.

I wasn't able to go cuz Friday was my first day of practicum for my teacher's ed. I got to meet the class I will be teachin this semester. Its a Grade 6 class. The kids are pretty good. I was afraid there would be lots of behavioural problems, but there isn't really. Almost half the class is Filipino! There's 26 kids in the class and 12 of them are Flip! And most of those kids are FOBS too. They were all asking, "Miss, are you filipino?" , "Miss, do you speak Tagolog?", "Miss, where are you from in the Philippines?" heehee..it was pretty funny. My Associate teacher is a cool guy too. He's good with the kids, and they like him. HOpefully they'll like me too when I start teaching them! I'll let you all know how it goes along!

I am really enjoying Teacher's College. Its much much different from my Undergrad experience. I actually like going to classes (even though the days are waaaaay too long for me). I've met lots of cool people too. We're going on an overnight retreat at the end of next week in Pickering. That should be fun, I hope! Its a lot of work, a lot of reading and assignments, but its all good! Let's hope I still feel this way at the end of the year right? = )

Auntie Maite, who was your supervisor for your PhD studies? Was its James Cunningham? If it is he's doing a writer's conference in a couple weeks at OISE. But its too expensive. heehe...just wondering if that was your guy?

so i hear i am a little bit of a "chatter" box??

so...it has come to my attention that i do a little too much "talking" on this blog thing...or maybe share too much of what is on my mind...kinda of funny since i haven't really blogged for a few months now...ANYHOW...i guess i will have to cut down on the chatter...as much as uncle jess owuld hate for that to happen...a lot of other people ARE complaining...TEARS!! i guess that is it for now...but i should mention the GREAT and WONDERFUL time i had in VA...i FINALLY got to meet the adorable and beautiful Lydia Kate and witness her being baptized as her Godmother, attend this long awaited and much talked about wedding of Jun-Jun and Rhea...and play with Jacob...who is A LOT more talkative and who calls me Uncle Joy...i don't mind b/c at least he knows my name...although he was calling me Snowphie at the end of the night...lol...well ok, that's all for now...i guess i'll blog again next month!!
