Snow, Mass, Food

Lucky are the Southerners in that they do not have to suffer the snow.

Here we are in the middle of March and the snow still keeps on coming. There is almost nothing to blog about but the snow. And that's what I will write/complain about tonight. This time it wasn't really that much but it was freezing snow that fell and that kind makes the roads "really slippery" (vs. merely "slippery"). All drivers except the crazy ones were doing 10 or 20 km/hr and that's really slow.

But no snow can keep us away from Church. We attended Mass today. The Bishop of Toronto was the celebrant and because of that, it was a special Mass and was well attended. But more than that, Albert served as an altar boy and was the designated assistant to the visiting Bishop. Mom, was of course, very proud of her boy.

And then there was the reception at the church hall where we stuffed ourselves with all kinds of cookies, cakes, and sweets. Will this over-eating ever stop? We had giant steaks last week for our pre-anniversary treat from the kids. (They are not telling but I think they might have spent a month of their pay for it). On our actual anniversary, Mom and I returned the favor and treated them at a chicken house, a decidedly lower class place than the steak house. Tomorrow, there will be another little gathering in the house where all the usual gang will be coming. It is supposed to be a continuing anniversary party for those who were not part of the previous ones. The food won't be as classy but it will be filling enough and fattening too, I'm sure.

Come join us.

For us Northerners, including of course the Chicagoans, that's how we deal with the snow, I think.

OK. I'll write something too.

I'm so glad that our blog site is awake again. It's been sometime that most of us have not written down our thoughts here. Now is the time again. Everybody is waiting for everybody. No news is too trivial and whatever you can tell will be interesting. Don't you agree? Come on guys, Uncle J ("Daddy" to you JBCA - you are not blogging) is pleading.

By the way, it is our second month birthday today.

P.S. Sorry, I am guilty too.

To Tara

There's one more event to celebrate today. Tara, loving wife of Marvin South of the Border and Mommy of Ethan, turns over another year today. (And you thought you were not in our list ...)

Happy Birthday, Tara!!

We wish you all the best and may you have a lot more to come.

Uncle Jessie, Auntie Baby, JBCA and the rest of the blog-gang.

Bon anniversaire pour mes parents!

haha like my broken French... anyway, it means happy anniversary! I hope you have a good day today and dont freeze your buns off! You're the best parents ever. I'm glad you enjoyed the dinner. We had fun too.

Anyway, its been a while since i last blogged, but i assure you i have been watching. I just trekked my way across Toronto's largest ice skating rink today. You should visit sometime, its called Queen's Park!! You have to walk so slowly or else walk in the snow, if you don't want to take a flip in front of everyone!!

I have nothing to say really. I'm just killing time before class. I really liked that Egg thing, Joey (ask my siblings!!). Do you have any more for us to see and sing along too?? "I really love you eggs....I really love you eggs..." Jeff, is it true that Chicago has the largest Slovak population in North America? This is what a friend told me. Do you have many Slovak patients? Just wondering. Marvin, did Marjorie have her baby yet? We weren't sure. Kuya Jean and Ate Jen, Congrats on having a girl. I hope i have a new namesake come July. I've always been told I had a "beautiful" name. heeheee... Ate Sheil, finally, Jacob can use the toilet. He's so grown up now. Does he pee standing up? haha. And it is a wonder he has no cavities with all that sugar he eats. But i guess he only eats candy when he's here, right? He gets to break mom's rules when he vists here.

Any hoos...thats all from me.

a la prochaine,
B

Momma's Big Day

Yesterday afternoon, Momma and I took our Wedding Vows in church before a real priest ...again. More on that as this particular post is about something else equally significant.

In this one, we talk about Momma's big day. Today is her Birthday! Today we had the usual breakfast at the usual time, the usual animated breakfast talk, good and not too good. But as a whole, this day is progressing as if it is a special someone's Birthday. And it is.

Before I get carried away:

Happy Birthday To You. ♪♪♪♥
Happy Birthday To You. ♪♪♪♥
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday. ♪♪♪♥

Momma, Happy Birthday To You!!

We hope and pray and that you have a lot more happy years coming your way.
