Afternoon of Jazz

I just wanted to share some pictures of a very nice and intimate jazz concert Katie and I were invited to attend this afternoon. The ensemble featured a collection of musicians led by Victor Goines who is the Artistic Director of Jazz Studies at The Juilliard School in New York and accompanied by the directors of jazz studies at Emory University, Florida State and New Orleans University and vocals by Mrs. Kemba Cofield. Victor Goines also performs with his mentor Ellis Marsalis and his son Wynton Marsalis in New York and New Orleans and all over the world.

The music was rich and full of culture giving sounds that were contemporary and also brought you back to Lou Rawls, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone and Duke Ellington.

Happy 5th Birthday Jacobus Maximus

Happy Birthday Jake! We wanted to be the first to wish our favorite nephew/godson a very happy birthday. We hope that your day is filled with lots and lots of fun and activities, games, presents and love. You are growing so fast-we wish we could see you more so it doesn't seem so drastic. We still keep your little Spider Man flip-flops in our fourier to remind us of you when we go in and out of the house. We are looking everywhere for this "Cars" bookbag you want and will mail it to you as soon as we find it-just wait for it in your mail box!
