yOrKdAlE mAlL rOcKs!
ok...so as u all may of noticed that i went to yorkdale mall this week...anyhow, i have deprived as a child, teenager & now an adult from ever being taken there...i mean...it never really phased me on what i was missing, until i entered the Yorkdale Mall doors...
i guess i should tell you first what led me to wanting to go there this time...well...the fact that they opened 40 new stores april 13th!! some of them being (and the one's i went there specifically for ) were H&M, Sephora and...LULULEMON!!!
ok....so it was the MOST amazing experience ever...Square One WHO?? this place is BEAUTIFUL!! so many shops BUT so little time and money!! i wish i was rich like all the other peeps there shopping...seriously, all the cars that were parked at the mall were like BMW's, Benz's, Jag's...etc...and they were carrying out bags from Tommy, Holt Refrew, Aritzia, LuluLemon buy the cart full...and some of them even had people help them bring out their stuff to their car!! CRAZY!!
so...i guess you're probably wondering if i bought anything...well...OF COURSE I DID, it is a mall!! even with my lacking funds, i still managed to spend a pretty buck!! i'm not telling the exact amount...in case this goes back to mom & dad...they will surely be angered...also at the fact that i went to Yorkdale!! HE HE!! but since i trust u all to keep my secret, i know that won't happen...RIGHT!!?? anyhow, i went to H&M...man that place is AWESOME!!! amzaing clothes, good looking one's for like a REALLY good price!! i got me 2 shirts and a purse from there...then is was off to Sephora...I LOVE THAT PLACE!! they had all the make-up in the world...even Jessica Simpsons rediculous lines...but i ended up only buying lipgloss that was a Sephora brand!! then it was off to the coveted LuluLemon...if i had all the money in the world, i would buy one of everything from there!! but @ this moment, if i did, i think i would owe the bank @ least $5000.00!! oh ya...that place is VERY expensive...especially considering it's all workout/yoga wear!! but it's SO beautiful!! i managed to spend some $ there...although regretting it b/c i would NEVER wear the outfit i got to actually workout in...WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!
ok well, that's all from me...hope ya'll have a great weekend!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all...kuju...YOU ARE GOING TO BE AN AMAZING LOMBOS MAN!! AND FATHER!! if you've learned ANYTHING from your uncles, father & most especially grandpa, you will be one of the best!! love ya!!

Happy Birthday

Hey, I thought you were blonde!

Guess who this red-haired girl is.

Aging? No!

Last Saturday, April 9th, Momma and I (with grandparents) went to a wedding party in Burlington, about 50km west of here.

It was the wedding of Peter (youngest son of close family friends, Elda and Philips Pinili) to a young woman, Karolyn, from that city. It is obviously a significant milestone for everyone closely involved, but to me and Momma, it also has an added dimension to it. Peter was our ring bearer, on our own wedding twenty five years, one month, and one day ago last Saturday, a fact they mentioned in one of the many speeches made during the reception dinner. (No, we were not called to the front, not mentioned by name, or even made to stand to be recognized though I wished otherwise. But the occasion was not about us and it did not really matter.)

What matters, as I contemplate about it, is that Momma and I are really getting old. When Sharon, our flower girl got married almost three years ago in May 2002, (now she and Bill, her husband, have a baby of their own), the thought did not really come up that strong. But I guess when the other half of the youngest of the team takes the vow, that’s when it hits harder. To be sure, this is not the first time that I have thought of becoming old – it probably is the millionth time – but thinking about it one more time is one more manifestation of its inevitability.

JBCA are not babies anymore. Our friends may look as old as we do but we refuse to see that. We also refuse to accept that we may have as many wrinkles as they have until we look into the mirror, and only then that the truth reveals itself. But still we tend to ignore what we see. As a matter of fact, I do not feel old at all. Maybe, that’s what really matters.

A final thought: in the comics page this morning, ("For Better Or For Worse"), the gramps said "It’s the lucky people who get to grow old. …. Some folks don’t get this far." Now that’s a good one. I hope to be even luckier with the years. Momma feels the same, I’m sure.

Belated Happy Birthday

We apologize to yesterday's Birthday celebrant but better late than never; this is for him:
