Happy Anniversary

…. Or should that be "Happy Lunaversary" or "Happy Mooniversary."?

Almost a month ago, January 11th to be exact, this weblog site came into existence when we posted our initial blog. Since then, our site has been active with the enthusiastic response from some (hopefully all) of our folks. Despite Bernadette’s dire prediction, which I tried to temper with my own guarded optimism, we blossomed. Our thanks go to Marvin South of the Border with his first blog, twoandababy with their first, Jeffrado with his, and ernanjoy with hers. These four/five(six) lovely people all started as commenters but eventually became contributors themselves because of their obvious interest. (Ernanjoy, as a matter of fact, was sort of a disgruntled commenter since she wanted very much to be an "insider", by becoming a regular blogger/contributor.) Malacabo also posted a few comments but I guess he became very busy since then. There is an outstanding e-mail invitation for Malacabo to become a contributor. He just has to accept the invitation.

Of course, the Cabotajes in Canada, despite their on-off enthusiasm or transparently simulated indifference, have nevertheless contributed their thoughts with their own blogs although not as often as Daddy wishes. Our naysayer, Bernie, has amazingly become an almost daily blogger, even posting one of her
pictures to boot. Albert has lately been busy with his exams that he missed several of his "Vocabularies" (sample) and "Quotes of the Day" (sample). Momma still has a little problem handling the computer itself so her blogs are intermittent. Cristina and Janice, in their effort to make daddy happy, (click here and here), try to blog now and then. But whether they blog or not, the Cabotajes await your posts eagerly and take the time to read and enjoy them all.

I hope all the other folks are also visiting the site regularly if only to see what’s going on in the tribe...

Happy Birthday!!! Keep on Blogging!!!

FiNaLlY!!

dear everyone...

I hAtE sNoW!! today seemed 2 b a VERY long day!! mine started @ 5:30am...y so early if i don't have a class until 8:05am...well, here's the thing...I HATE PUBLIC TRANSIT...so to avoid it, i ride with the 'rents in the mornings (well on tuesday's and wednesday's) AND b/c of the darn snow, we had to leave EXTRA early so that I wouldn't be late for the shuttle and mom wouldn't be late for work!!

besides the snow...i was feeling really lazy and unfocused today...i was daydreaming most of the day rather than listening to my professor's...i was also trying to plan for my weekend and how i will be locked in my room with a bowl of popcorn watching movies all weekend since my Valentine's will be a little lonely this year :( but don't worry...something may come up ;P

the news around here is that the 3 of us are doing a lot better...i finished my antibiotics yesterday, dad today and mom's cough is just a little lighter than b4...so we're on our way to recovery!! i also made the executive decision to bundle our satellite and internet plan!! we now have a gazillion channels and I will have DSL connection in a few days!! but now i have to buy some kind of network card!! i dunno i guess my comp's are WAY out of date!! oh well...@ least now i can download music and stuff and not have to wait a whole day for it!! YAHOO!!

anyhow...that's all from me...kinda tired again...i think i'll eat some chips...oh wait i can't...if mom sees me she'll make a comment about cheating on my diet...BUMMER!! ok guys...i WILL blog again!! MUUAHAHAHAHAHAH (this is supposed to be an evil laugh!)

btw...CRISTINA...don't bite my style!! just kidding!! love ya!!

Beware

Read this you Richmondians or Mechanicsvillians. This is for you.

Boring day today

I was surfing the net, browsing other peoples' blogs as a way to spend my noon break from work. I would normally get out of the office during this time and take a little walking exercise around a few blocks near my office building. The snow, yes it's snowing again, made me sit still instead to stare at my PC as if I don't do that all day already.

But you know what? I changed my mind half an hour later and decided to take a walk after all. It turned out, it wasn' t that cold despite the steady snowfall. It's just that it was a slow walk fearing that the slippery sidewalks might do me in. So it was not an exercise but a leisure walk that I did. And instead of going around the usual blocks, I walked straight to a nearby Chapters store (that's a bookstore owned by my employer). I did not have anything specific in mind at first but as I walked through the doors, I thought I would look into some South Beach diet books.

Well, I found some but they are a bit expensive. I'll just do my own diet or maybe Momma's diet. Mom's diet is very effective, I think, because I almost always get away from the dining table still hungry. And if this keeps going on, I'll be really skinny in no time.

Just rambling again. Back to work.

First and Ten do it again...albert, what does this mean?

hey...i should be studying for my test, but I am lazy and I want to blog to make dad happy. haha...

Way to go Patriots...whoever you are. I'm not a football fan at all, but I'll pretend. That Tom Brady is quite the hottie. = ) Marv, did you have a super bowl party at your casa last night? Is that why u are not blogging?

I had a good weekend. I went to this formal dance that my school was holding. Its called the Fireball. It was alright. I enjoyed dressing up though. I got to wear Manang's bridesmaid dress from Ate Sheil's weddding. It actually fits me now. A little constricting but it fits!heehee. I will post pics from it later.

Dad, i will go on the South Beach diet with you. Buy the books. And I second mom's suggestion about washing the dishes after dinner and sweeping the floor. This way, me and Al can go and pick our noses and be free of chores. YAY!! Al, do you agree?

Okie dokie. That is all. See y'all later.

sUpErBoWl

hey all...

well, it's superbowl sunday and i am NOT liking it!! firstly...Swiss Chalet MADE me go to work on a sunday (the first sunday in like a year) only to send me home ONE AND HALF HOUR after i got there!! well, that was a total WASTE of my time...and the fact that i had to drive in this ridiculous fog was simply RIDOCULOUS and made me even more MAD!!

besides that...i have been having a good day!! went to church, visited grandparents, went to lunch and did some homework...oh ya and worked.

anyhow, i have been having major knee problems...i think i may need to go see a specialist. when i go see my doctor he tells me my knees are weak b/c i'm overweight...but now that i have lost almost 30lbs (or more) why does it POP everytime i walk??!! please explain that!! i nearly collasped at the mall and i was all by myself and a whole bunch of strangers...and then i almost dropped like 6 dishes at work when i was serving!! to make a long story short, i need to see another doctor!!

btw...my sinus infection is slowly going away, as well as daddy's. our antibiotics is doing it's job...well it better considering they cost $52.00 for 7 pills!! THANK THE LORD FOR HEALTH CARE!! mom on the other hand is still very much sick. her coughs are increasing, she breathing as if she's having an asthma attack and she always needs water and tissue near her. i hope she gets better soon!! i can't joke around with her as much as i used to b/c if she starts laughing her non-stop coughing activates.

anyhow, that's all from me now...i gotta get to bed...not to sleep but to get warm...IT'S COLD!! TTYL!!

ernanjoy

PS: uncle i'm rooting for you...i wish dad could follow in ur footsteps but he loves food way too much to cut down!! but he is exercising on the elliptical he bought mom for 5mins a day now!!

Fog or snow?

An easy choice. I'll take fog anytime.

This entire weekend, Mississauga (and Toronto and probably other places in Ontario), was blanketed with thick fog. Driving through a foggy roadway is a lot safer than driving through a slick snowy one. One just has to drive very slowly and at the same time, keep an eye on the super drivers who seem to have super visions that can see through the soup-thick fog. (These kinds of drivers are a road menace any season of the year.)

Hopefully, this fog will lift by tomorrow. At any rate, fog is the usual sign that things are warming up and that winter will soon turn the corner and disappear altogether ... until next winter.
