Canadian Traditions

man on dock Posted by Hello

hey all, long time no post from me. I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful summer weather we've been having recently!!

Anyway, my title is Canadian traditions, cuz i wanted to talk about the great Canadian past time of visiting the cottage! Our family, unfortunately, doesn't own one, but I had the opportunity to go up to my friend's cottage in Midland this past weekend! We go every year and it is always tons of fun, this year was no exception! A bunch of friends and I went up and we were like children again. We ate lots of BBQ and chilled on the dock at the lake behind the house. We played frisbee, catch, took nature walks, went for bike rides. But, it was still too cold to go swimming so we didn't go to the beach. We made great use of our Karaoke machine in the evening! = ) There was wonderful weather the entire weekend, my face is very brown! My big suggestion is that we Cabotajes should purchase a cottage somewhere up north. We would make great use of it I think. We'd have great family reunions up there, just think about it!! = ) You know that Lotto 649 commercial where the parents give their kids cottages on the lake, that is my dream! I hope you win a huge jackpot someday Dad!!!

So yeah, thats that. Work is going well, although this week was a pretty slow week, all my kids called in sick at least once. Oh well, i just had more time to pick my nose i guess! =)
k...i'm gonna go now. Mmmm...pot roast for din-din. Yum.

love joyce

probably 2-4kms??

hey all...well, i have started my regimen again...this time there's no treadmill or ellipticals to help me out...or the hot buff guys @ my school for me to look at...now, it's rows and rows of houses and the endless sidewalk that make my knees hurt with every step...so much for my nike shox!! anyhow, i haven't really measured the distance i walk, but everyone has said it's pretty far...maybe around 2-4kms?? i think tomorrow i'll drive my route and see just how far i walk...i'm walking everyday now...even when i get home from work and dead tired...but i have to!! auntie mae...it's not the boys i'm trying to impress (i have no problems there...lol...) it's daddy and his comment...he thinks that i am snacking again when i really am not, i'm just being a lazy bum...i hardly eat at all unless i'm out with someone...otherwise i forget and don't eat until dinner...and even @ dinner i don't eat much then too...but i'm glad dad made a comment to me, b/c i'm back...and if i keep doing these walks i'll reach my goal!!

so anyhow, i rented the "notebook"...that movie was SO good...i'm gonna buy it!! i cried at the same parts in the book and in the movie!! the movie was just as good or maybe even better than the book...i say that b/c ryan gosling is pretty good to look at!! lol!! guys named ryan are pretty good looking guys...i mean there's ryan gosling, ryan reynolds, and a special ryan i know!! lol!!

oh ya...heads up...to EVERYONE...dad's "surprise" 50th b-day party is scheduled for july 9th...if u guys (in the US too) can come and make it, i think dad would be so delighted!! anyhow, invitations are going out soon!! and of course...the one and only is planning the whole thing!! btw...how did the surprise shower go?? i want some pics!! and oh ya...kuju, those pics i promised u...well, i put the pics on cd...just the wrong one's!! lol...i'll try again!!

anyhow, i'm gonna go shower...the sweat already dried up on me...EWW...but that only means a nice LONG hot shower!! WOOHOO...no more hot water for mom or dad!! oh wait, they showered already!! BOO!!!
