A real tear jerker

I'm sure that any of you that watch tv or listen to the radio are aware of the undescribeable destruction that the hurricane has left behind in the gulf coast. Just watch the coverage or listen to the radio for 5 minutes and I guarantee that you will be in tears. Many people have died and the numbers will continue to climb. And the ones that have survived have lost loved ones and family members and now have NOTHING but the clothes on their backs. Kate has a co-worker who is from New Orleans and she has a lot of family members still living there and they have been unable to contact them. We will all be effected by this disaster at some point in time. In our small town of Carrollton Ga, many gas stations are running out of gas because people have panicked and fueled up every possible motorized vehicle they own before gas reaches $3/$4 a gallon. It is already that in Atlanta and some fuel stations out here. Small town histerics I know, but its a sign of what is to come. Anyway, forget the gas prices, that new outfit or pair of shoes you are wanting to buy. Skip that latte and frapuccino from Starbucks tomorrow and donate to the humanitarian relief efforts. Don't forget the animals too!
I have included some links to different charities; the first one I assume you are all familiar with. Take action, don't wait and say you'll do it tomorrow-click on the link now and help out.

Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
Mark 10:21

Welcome to the Sisons

On Thursday, September 1st, at about 3:30pm, the Cabotajes and the Serranos will be welcoming the Sisons at the Norfolk International Airport, Norfolk, Virginia. After more than twenty years of waiting, the Sisons are finally landing in North America as new immigrants of the USA.

It is going to be a happy and very emotional meeting among everyone involved. We have not seen the folks from the Philippines for almost fifteen years. And still, we will not be seeing all six of them as the older Sison kids, Popet, Jewel and Louwill will not be with them at the airport. They will be left behind in Manila with hope and prayers that they will follow their parents and sister, Janna, in the not too distant future. As it is, Willy, Marlene and Janna will be heartily, heartfully, gladly and emotionally welcomed to their new country and most importantly to our hearts. Mommy P had dreamed of this reunion while she was still with us. It is not the complete reunion that Mommy hoped for but it is a big step and we certainly hope that the strides will continue.

So roll out the Red Carpet and let's welcome Uncle Willy, Auntie Marlene, and cousin Janna to our midst. It will be a different Cabotaje clan from now on.

We wish them the best. And we will be patiently waiting for Popet, Jewel and Alex, and Louwill.

Grandma Is Getting Better Everyday

Good news for everyone who really cares for and loves Grandma Lydia. Grandma is in her usual self and you know what that means. She is now talking again animatedly just like before. She remembers and looks for everyone. She talks on the phone with her grandchildren both the Americans and the Canadians as if she was never sick. And now she's up and about, walking with her walker on the hallways of the hospital floor, attracting delighted looks from the duty nurses.

Yes, kids, your Grandma is back.

Only one problem. The doctors think she must stay in the hospital for a few more days until she's undergone some theraphy on her still aching knee. But that's nothing to worry about. She has an excellent care in the hospital with her less than 100% health condition. It is bettered only by the kind of care that only Grandpa can give. And Grandpa is always there for her.
