hi everyone

nothing fancy today...nothing long...no gossip!! sorry all!! but i have been told by a certain "twoandababy" that i express too much of myself on this blog...so from now on it'll be nice and short and very informal.

this week has gone by very quick...i can't believe it's FRIDAY!! i am SO happy!! except for the fact that i have to go into work today, serve and see the "boy". oh shoot...too much info...sorry!!

anyways, for the past week and next week are my midterms...a little stressed...too much to know SO very little time...i wish i was done with it all...move to NC, meet a handsom doctor, get married and have 3 kids, 1 dog, and an aquarium full of fishy's.

anyhow, i have meetings all day with my prof's...POO that!! plus deliver some babies along the way. so that's it from me...sorry uncle for not blogging yesterday...BUT i did read the blogs!!

No title

It is 10::30, Friday morning. I am the sole person in my small department today and I am toiling relentlessly despite the absence of prying eyes, curious of what I am up to. There are other individuals in the office but they are my friends and they do not care what I do. But as of this minute, "relentlessly" applies to my "furious" typing of this e-mail--that's the advantage of no prying eyes (just kidding -- I'm on break).

My boss and his boss and another co-worker went away for the weekend to go ice fishing up north. What is so exciting about ice fishing, I wonder. One goes to a frozen lake, sit on a stool on the ice for hours and hours at a time. The temperature is extremely frigid ( or the lake won't freeze, duh!). There's nobody else around except your fishing buddy. And who knows -- there may not be fish around either. If I understand it right, there is not even alcohol allowed while on ice. But anyway... a lot of people go so it must be fun, ...for them anyway.

Another topic: Have you noticed a few changes to our page lately? I'll point out a few if you haven't. First, although I have not changed the site title, I have modified the introduction to make it more descriptive of our expanded blogger population. Second, we now have a site meter that counts the total visits to our site. It tallies any visit to the site even if only accidental and even if only for a brief second -- usually made by some incurable web surfers . I, however, set it up to ignore my own visits in the office or at home. Otherwise, the count will be skewed and exaggerated as I go into it every now and then. I work in front of a computer all day, remember? This is located at the bottom of the page. Click on it and it gives a more detailed count. Third, I have created a few links to other sites to divert us to somewhere else in case (in a very rare instance - I hope) blogging becomes tedious. Let me know, if you have favorite site/s, appropriate to our site, which you may want to toggle into occasionally, with just one mouse click. We'll include it. Fourth, archiving is now on a weekly basis. Fifth, the home page shows only six days worth of posts. The rest go into the archive. Sixth, the "posted by" line now shows date and time. Any suggestion for other changes?

Just noticed: no one blogged yesterday. I guess it was a holiday because it was Marvin's Birthday.

Break over.

TOYS, TOYS, AND MORE TOYS!!!

Footballs, bouncing balls, race cars, dump trucks, talking toys, music toys, loud toys, too many toys. Toys all over the place. Ethan has a huge toy basket that we keep his toys in, but the ones that he always wants to play with seem to all be at the bottom of the basket. One by one he methodically picks through each toy until they are all on the floor. What were we thinking when we bought him all these toys. I think it's payback from when I was little. I've been known to make a mess or two.
Looking back, Mom and Dad were on to something. When we went to the store, I would go to the toy department and ask Mom if I could get a toy. Mom had four responses and four responses only.
1. "NO!" That's exactly what it meant. There was no other interpretation for it. You might as well hang it back up. Or in my case throw it down the aisle, yell, scream, and cry in a feeble attempt that my Mom would buy it just to shut me up. Really the only thing that got me was a beat down. Not at the store, never in public. You would just get the stare maybe a pinch, just a taste of things to come. Not is the car, the car ride home was generally quite, the calm before the storm. Occasionally along the way home I'd stop whinning. Only to look up at the rear view mirror and seeing my Mom still starring at me. It was official, when we got home I had a date with the slippers. Now Mom's next response was of course my favorite.
2. "YES" This doesn't mean it was mine just yet. It wasn't in the bag. If it wasn't in the bag , it wasn't mine. There was always a chance of me messing up. For example, fighting with my sister in the store would definitely result in having me put the toy back. As long as I behaved I could have the toy.
3. "Go ask your Dad." Usually this meant NO with a slim chance of a YES only because when I asked Dad he would respond, "What did your Mom say?" or "Go ask your Mom." If I really wanted it, I'd do my three laps around the store to find Mom (two in one direction and one in the opposite) just to ask Mom again. Which brings me to her forth of four responses. this was her world famous and personal favorite response. I think she got this one trademarked.
4. "Next time." I say this was her personal favorite because it was most often used. And although she said "next time" it didn't always mean the next time we went to the store. It could mean next week or next month. It was toy limbo. The next time I asked her could very well get another "next time" answer. But you said next time last time. Then came the stare.

To make a long story even longer, my point is that I know now what my Mom knew then. It's not that she didn't want to buy me more toys, it's because she didn't want more toys all over the house. She didn't want to have to keep telling me to put away my toys. When it comes to Ethan, all her previous responses are in retirement. It has been for a year and a half. Now her responses have turned into "What does Ethan need?" or "What does Ethan want?" or 'I'll get that for Ethan." Some of his toys he's never even seen. They are still in boxes. Some are in his closet. Others are in the attic. As much as I hate saying no to my son, I think it's going to have to be....."Next time Ethan. Next time."

I am so smart, SMRT

i'm bored. I have nothing to do at home on this so called "spring break". how boring. I have so much reading to catch up on, it makes me throw up just thinking about it! I think i'm gonna eat all the chocolate i got for Valentine's day right now, just to perk things up a bit. haha...

I'm So HaPpY

hey all...just came home from shopping after school and i was feeling REALLY bummed today b/c of last night...my concentration @ school was no where to be found...i am having one of those days where i don't even remember how i got to school or if i was...

anyhow...i am in tears right now...b/c i just realized what a WONDERFUL family i have!! thank you to uncle jess, m. joyce and m. jan for your encouraging words...they mean so much!! you don't even understand how much beeter i feel about myself and what happened last night!!

well...some good news...i was called to a meeting with my program co-ordinator (scary) and she told me about the rave reviews the nurses and my clinical teachers had about my performance so far!! I AM SO HAPPY!! but it still doesn't change the fact that school stinks!! he he!!

i confess...i had a 6 piece nugget meal @ mcdonalds...sorry uncle jess for this...i know u are trying to lose weight too and it doesn't help to hear that i ate mcdonalds...it was GOOD, but now i gotta go to the basement and go on the elliptical for at least 30mins!! I LOVE the fact that i can fit into REAL clothes now!! i have gone down by 2 pant sizes and 1 top size (only b/c there are other factors affecting you know "the girls"). i like the fact that my thighs are A LOT smaller and that my stomach is getting smaller too...NOW i gotta work on toning my body...URGH!! that's the hardest part!!

anyhow, HITCH was good...very FUNNY!! will smith is the hottest black man i have ever seen in my life...except that girl...will's nemisis...i thought she overacted in some parts...but the part that was the FUNNIEST was the part after she read "Juan Malar"...HE HE HE!! m. jan u know what i'm talking about!!

anyhow...i still don't know about my guy situation...maybe i will find a REALLY hot doctor when i start working...but there's just something about THIS guy...but, like uncle said, i am young, school IS my priority, but every girl needs that one person to buy her some bling bling...HE HE just kidding!! but no...everyone needs a companion in their lifetime...whether it be temporary or permanent, it's just nice to have someone to talk to and be with rather than just our friends and family...something different...anyhow, that's all i'm gonna say...ttyl!!

VaLeNtInE's is POO

no more reading this one...sorry guys!!

Not just another year older

Well here I am again. It's been about a week since I posted though I have been reading all of your postings. I've just been trying to get the most of what's left of my 20's. That's right, I'm turning 30 in three days. Where has the time gone? Tara is throwing me a birthday party in Virginia Beach this weekend. She invited a lot of my friends that I grew up with, most of which will also be turning 30 later during the year. It should be loads of fun. I haven't seen some of these people in years. Some are coming from as far as California. Others aren't but a few hours away. The point is that they are all coming to see me and that's special. Everyone I'm sure are very busy and have families. To come celebrate with me would be an unforgettable moment. Got to go now. I have to climb Mt. Everest, go sky diving, build a time machine, and wrestle alligators. All before I turn 30. Less than 61 hours till my birthday.
