Rude awakening!

JBCA have been telling me, pointing out to me, pointing at it, for a long time. Their Mom has been nagging me about it. Other folks have been making some subtle references or even jokes about it. And amid all these, I kept pretending it isn't so. Nahhhh! It can't be.

My camera is finally ready to take reasonably good pictures again. I've missed family reunion shoots. I've missed snow shoveling-, snow pushing-, snow whatever- shoots. Now I have my camera back. I am ready to take pictures again.

This morning we went to IKEA to have a paid breakfast instead of a free one at home. We ordered seven servings for only the five of us. (Bernadette had to go to her job.) So we ate a lot. Maybe, I, me myself ate a lot... more like it, or as JBCA would assert.

I brought my camera with us. We did not know if taking pictures inside the store was allowed or not. But instead of asking, we simply sneaked a few shots. Among the shots was one which Cristina took a picture of me in front of some colorful, of all things, garbage cans.

To make the story short, I now have a promise to myself and to Mom. I will do regular exercises from now on. I am not promising to eat less or go to IKEA less often but I might as well think about that too.

You see, if it is not clear yet, my picture showed a really big and bulging tummy. A real ugly protrusion, you might say. Even the denier in me could not believe it. I was so shocked and embarrased even to Cristina that I deleted the image right there without even showing it to the rest of them. I really denied them that little amusement at my expense.

The denial is over and the exercises are now coming in earnest. That's a promise. I have been rudely awakened from my deceptively peaceful but disguised nightmare. Root for me, okay?

Thanks Jeff. I'll look into it. That's also a promise.
